Addiction

How Medication Assisted Treatment Combined with Technology Can Help Halt Addiction. The mechanism by which addiction operates is that repeated behaviour releases endorphins (natural opioids - ‘endorphin rush’) into the brain, tapping into a ‘primal’ operator that eventually overwhelms the the more evolved, rational part of the brain. Stimuli surrounding the rewarded behaviour will trigger Dopamine which heightens your awareness and focuses your attention on the reward behaviour. Dopamine blockers can be used to interrupt the cycle, pull them out of the loop so they can receive therapy to consider other options.
